LINKS TO WORLD WIDE AND NON-GEOGRAPHIC SITES

HOW TO USE THIS PAGE

(LEFT FRAME)

The Link page has been set up in two frames:  Left and Main.

The Left frame provides the links in a table with two columns. The left column gives a brief description; the right columns the link.  You don't need to see the entire link, just a small part that allows you to click on it.

Click the link and your desired website appears in the right hand Main frame.

The sizes of the frames are not fixed.  You can change the width and high of each frame by placing your pointer on the separating bar.  When a bi-directional arrow appears, you can mouse-click and drag the bar respectively left-right / up-down.

This allows you a maximum Left frame when you are reading the links, and when you have clicked a link, you maximize the Main frame for your required page.  You can scroll away the Top frame altogether until you want to return to the Birdlist pages. When you want to return to the Birdlist.org information, you scroll it down and click the Toucan.

It is possible to open any link in a new window by clicking it with a righthand click; mark Open in a new Window.  That way you can have several different web sites open at the same time.

If you use Firefox the wonderful browser from http://Mozilla.org you also have the choice of opening websites in a new Tab in the same window. This is very handy if you want to have multiple sites open without having too many windows open. I use this a lot.

Established in 1970, The Peregrine Fund works nationally and internationally, to conserve birds of prey in nature. We conserve nature by achieving results--results restoring species in jeopardy, conserving habitat, educating students, training conservationists, providing factual information to the public, and by accomplishing good science. We succeed through cooperation and hard-work, using common sense, being hands-on and non-political, and by emphasizing solutions.

TRAFFIC's mission is to ensure that trade in wild plants and animals is not a threat conservation of nature. TRAFFIC's work is neither easier nor closer to completion than it was in the mid-1970s when TRAFFIC was founded largely to assist in the implementation of CITES. CITES now covers some 30 000 plant and animal species and has more than 150 member countries. These member countries face ever-more complex issues in determining how best to ensure that trade does not threaten the survival of species.

While continuing to support the application of CITES, TRAFFIC has developed its role in addressing wildlife trade issues in a wider context, including major commercial sectors such as fisheries and timber trade and a wide range of regional and local issues.
